Method... This is a lesson in misdirection... First place a rolled up paper napkin in your left pocket (pants or jacket... doesn't matter) Show another napkin to the audience. (They should be unaware of the napkin ball in your left pocket...) Tear it into many pieces...roll it into a ball and hold it on your palm up, open hand...Stand with your left side towards the audience... Take a pencil and tap the ball 2 times...making sure that on tap # 1 and 2 that your hand with the pencil goes behind the right side of your head momentarily.... After the second tap as you bring your hand back place the pencil on the top of your right ear...as you say THREE!!! bring your hand down to strike the paper ball and the audience will see the PENCIL has disappeared...It is sudden and unexpected...Slowly turn so your right side is now facing the audience... And point to the pencil behind your right ear.. People will usually laugh right here... While you are pointing to the pencil quickly switch the torn pieces of paper with the whole paper ball that is in your left pocket... You will have LOTS of distraction to do this because everyone will be looking at the pencil behind your ear..... Take the pencil and this time count 1,2,3... and the paper napkin will be destroyed and you are completly clean... the other pieces are in your pocket and you can take your bow...
